Why should I choose you as my therapist?

When choosing a therapist it is important to look for two things:

  • They are registered with a recognised professional body such as The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). Visit the BACP Register where you can verify my status (Caroline Harland Registration Number 382458).
  • A recognised qualification from a reputable institution. I hold a BA (Hons) in Person-Centred counselling as well as a Diploma in Person-Centred counselling accredited by the BACP from the highly regarded Middlesex University. These qualifications are in conjunction with The Metanoia Institute who specialise exclusively in counselling & psychotherapy training.

Creating a trusting therapeutic relationship that is right for you is also absolutely key so that's why I offer a FREE 15 minute chat over the phone before your first session so we can make sure we're a good fit together.

Where do sessions take place?

I am offering a blended approach and now offer in-person (Angel, London) sessions on FRIDAYS as well as online via Zoom or the telephone on other days (so you can be based anywhere in the UK for sessions).


I also have a LONDON BRIDGE space offering flexibility on times & days. Get in touch to have a chat!

How many sessions do I need?

Although there is no minimum or maximum, often 10-20 weekly sessions can be particularly beneficial.


While some clients continue for years, others feel ready to stop after 6 sessions.


It's a personal choice & something we can discuss together.

It's totally understandable to feel nervous. Perhaps you've not had a good experience in the past. Or talking to a stranger feels daunting. How much does it cost?

It is £60 per online/telephone session, payable securely in advance online.


It is £70 per in-person session, payable securely in advance online (1st session) then in advance / cash / bank transfer in session.


I do offer some student & concession rates. Please contact me to confirm if I have current availability.

What if you can't help me?

Perhaps you're considering therapy with issues that feel very painful or challenging. It may feel hard yet it's a step towards helping yourself & getting the support you need.


I offer a FREE 15 minute chat over the phone before your first session with no obligation to continue.


Rest assured that I will only suggest we are able to continue working together if we feel we are a good fit together and that I can work ethically to a high, professional standard.


If for any reason, this is not the case, I will endeavour to signpost you to more helpful support for your needs.

Counselling or therapy?

The words 'counselling' & 'therapy' are considered the same so are interchangeable. I use them both equally.

How Online Counselling Works...

Every 50-minute session is £60. We meet on a safe, encrypted platform.


To help us ensure we’re a good fit, I offer a FREE 15 minute chat before your 1st session. Or you can simply book your first session below. Email me if you'd like to check availability further ahead.


We can explore your hopes for counselling & any questions you may have.


If my style isn’t quite right for you, that’s ok & there’s no obligation to continue after your 1st session.


You’ll receive a weekly message to confirm & securely pay for your next session, continuing for as long as you need.


I’ve created a Zoom™ support sheet to help you get the most out of online working together.


Working together online / via telephone means…


  • You may find it easier to talk, focus & express yourself
  • You don't have any travel time & costs with coming to therapy
  • You can create a comfortable & private space in your home for your sessions (this can include enjoying a hot cuppa & being in your PJs!)
