It can be hard constantly trying to hold everything together in life.

I’m passionate about supporting women of all ages & backgrounds through life’s challenges.

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Spiritual searching

  • Negative body image
  • Low confidence

Helping you to...

  • Feel less anxious
  • Lift your well-being
  • Cope with difficult feelings
  • Sleep better
  • Explore new ideas
  • Improve your interpersonal skills

The issues you choose to bring to counselling to explore can help you understand yourself more.

This can guide you in making informed choices which can feel empowering in helping you find your way forward.

I’m experienced in working with women and…

  • Chronic Health Conditions
  • Menopause
  • Infertility
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Relationship Issues
  • Trauma
  • Career Challenges
  • Motherhood

Counselling can help you understand thinking patterns that may not feel helpful for you. Perhaps you notice you…

  • Strive for perfection
  • Have a fear of failure
  • Never feel ‘enough'
  • Feel overwhelmed
  • Lack boundaries
  • Fear others judge you
  • Are overly self-critical
  • Feel like a imposter
  • Worry all the time
  • Are stuck in comparison mode

Counselling is Self-Care

Like yoga but different.

It’s caring for your emotional & spiritual well-being through exploring your feelings.

Whether you’re feeling alone, experiencing difficult emotions or seeking some clarity in your life, counselling can help.

Research shows us that 80% of clients in counselling end up in a better place than those who don’t seek help.

Private counselling puts you in control of what you want to work on, when & for how long.

No GP referrals or long waiting lists.

You can safely explore what you choose, free of judgement, creating an opportunity for greater self-discovery, reflection & positive change.

As your counsellor, I'm here to support you with any issues you choose; this can be a healing process that enables you to feel heard, understood & offers fresh insights into your challenges.

Counselling is a good way to explore your emotions, helping create a more authentic you that feels more in control & harmonious.

About Caroline

I’m a female person-centred counsellor that works with women. Having been working as a counsellor for many years, I feel it a privilege to work with so many wonderful women who trust me with their pain and challenges.

So why did I become a counsellor? I volunteered with a national mental health charity & my passion for supporting people with their emotional health grew, guiding me to completing a counselling degree.

Perhaps right now you feel as though you are at odds with yourself; struggling with something & think counselling could be good for you yet you’re afraid of where it might take you, how difficult it might be & wonder if it will actually help you?

Therapy is a journey. You might know the destination you want to arrive at, but the journey to get there through therapy does take work & the route can be bumpy - to be honest, to be real, & sometimes that hurts. But through the pain comes healing and that is the beauty of embarking upon a therapeutic journey.

Counselling offers a safe space for your stories to be heard, understood & help you find your way forward. That's why I feel honoured to be a therapist. To be with you & support you in understanding yourself more to be able to truly shine.

FAQs Counselling

Why should I choose you as my therapist?

When choosing a therapist it is important to look for two things:

  • They are registered with a recognised professional body such as The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). Visit the BACP Register where you can verify my status (Caroline Harland Registration Number 382458).

  • A recognised qualification from a reputable institution. I hold a BA (Hons) in

    Person-Centred counselling

as well as a Diploma in Person-Centred counselling accredited by the BACP from the highly regarded Middlesex University. These qualifications are in conjunction with The Metanoia Institute who specialise exclusively in counselling & psychotherapy training.

Creating a trusting therapeutic relationship that is right for you is also absolutely key so that's why I offer a FREE 15 minute chat over the phone before your first session so we can make sure we're a good fit together.

Where do sessions take place?

I am offering a blended approach and offer in-person (London Bridge) as well as online via Zoom or the telephone on other days (so you can be based anywhere in the UK for sessions). Get in touch to have a chat!

How many sessions do I need?

Although there is no minimum or maximum, often 10-20 weekly sessions can be particularly beneficial.

While some clients continue for years, others feel ready to stop after 6 sessions.

It's a personal choice & something we can discuss together.

I'm interested to know more. What's the next step?

Book in for a FREE 15 minute chat to see we're a good fit. You can always give me a call during normal office hours on 0800 999 1878 if you prefer however, booking a slot means avoiding the dreaded 'phone tennis' situation!

I'm feeling really nervous. Can you reassure me?

It's totally understandable to feel nervous. Perhaps you've not had a good experience in the past. Or talking to a stranger feels daunting. Maybe the journey to finding the right therapist for you is proving tough. Whatever your concerns, I'm here for you. I'm ready to see if we're a good fit to work together. Book a FREE 15 minute chat. No pressure. No obligations. Pinky promise!

How much does it cost?

It is £60 per online/telephone session, payable securely in advance online.

It is £70 per in-person session, payable securely in advance online / cash / bank transfer in session.

I do offer some student & concession rates. Please contact me to confirm if I have current availability.

What if you can't help me?

Perhaps you're considering therapy with issues that feel very painful or challenging. It may feel hard yet it's a step towards helping yourself & getting the support you need.

I offer a FREE 15 minute chat over the phone before your first session with no obligation to continue.

Rest assured that I will only suggest we are able to continue working together if we feel we are a good fit together and that I can work ethically to a high, professional standard.

If for any reason, this is not the case, I will endeavour to signpost you to more helpful support for your needs.

Counselling or therapy?

The words 'counselling' & 'therapy' are considered the same so are interchangeable. I use them both equally.

How Online Counselling Works...

Every 50-minute session is £60. We meet on a safe, encrypted platform.

To help us ensure we’re a good fit, I offer a FREE 15 minute chat before your 1st session.

We can explore your hopes for counselling & any questions you may have.

If my style isn’t quite right for you, that’s ok & there’s no obligation to continue after your 1st session.

You’ll receive a weekly message to confirm & securely pay for your next session, continuing for as long as you need.

I’ve created a Zoom™ support sheet to help you get the most out of online working together.

Working together online / via telephone means…

  • You may find it easier to talk, focus & express yourself
  • You don't have any travel time & costs with coming to therapy
  • You can create a comfortable & private space in your home for your sessions (this can include enjoying a hot cuppa & being in your PJs!)
